With both hands tied behind their backs, Heritage Foundation body slams the NRDC's Alice-in-Wonderland analysis that new regulations and higher energy costs imposed by Waxman-Markey legislation will be oh, so wonderful for the U.S. economy. The Heritage review does beg a question: Who the hell supports a lunatic, fringe environmental group's economic analysis anyways? Good question.
Answer: Large, anti-consumer, multinational corporations that stand to profit from carbon trading and offset schemes, while passing 100% of the new W-M costs to consumers; or, energy companies desperately attempting to bolster their "green" creds. Which large companies are going to sacrifice their customers? Those handful of large corporations (see chart below) that publicly support the NRDC's wacky economics and fringe environmental positions. (click to enlarge)
