Read here. If fossil fuel electricity generation is to be replaced within 10 years, as Al Gore is demanding, wind and solar farms would require huge amounts of acreage to accomplish. In contrast, nuclear would require a tiny area footprint. Now imagine the gigantic costs of building solar arrays or wind towers to cover the vast areas needed - did we say impractical?
