huge amounts of dangerous pollutants into the local air. If giant, profit-seeking firms such as Apple were to cease production in China, both the local and global atmosphere would improve - less pollutants causing Chinese birth defects. And, less stupendous Chinese CO2 emissions causing Al Gore's global warming catastrophes. Think locally, protect globally, Apple!
Apple chose to locate production in China because of the incredibly cheap labor (sweatshop-style wages) and the lax environmental standards that help create cheap electric power. Isn't it time for Apple to bring all production back to the U.S. where a high quality labor force need jobs and the environmental standards followed by U.S. power plants provide best quality, clean electricity at a reasonable price?
Aren't Steve Jobs and Al Gore rich enough? The Chinese have right to a clean environment just like America's; and, Americans deserve high quality manufacturing jobs that Apple can provide but farms out to cheap Chinese labor. Can't Steve and Al sacrifice a tiny bit of their wealth to make the world safer and cleaner for all?
Since Al Gore's Apple has defected from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in a highly publicized manner, over the CoC's stance against the massive 'cap & trade' tax favored by Gore, shouldn't Apple be held to a clean and sustainable production capability that exceeds, or at least matches, their rhetoric?
Is it time to boycott Apple because it is part of the horrendous Chinese birth defect problem?
