Read here and here. The continuing expose of the massive IPCC climate scientist global warming research fraud, for even the most fanatical global warming supporters, has many backtracking. This is good. Unfortunately though, the unprecedented liars' revelation has dealt all of science a terrible blow.
The damage that the revealed unprecedented liars have done to science in general is, well...er..., unprecedented. For example, just prior to the documented revelations that the IPCC and associated climate scientists have been willing participants in scientific fraud, major science associations' staff sent letters to U.S. senators urging them to follow the IPCC scientific consensus, despite an overabundance of actual scientists who question the IPCC "consensus." These major science associations, like many, were deceived by those who claimed an assumed adherence to important scientific principles, objectivity and honesty. Now, as it turns out, it's revealed that the IPCC climate science was a fraudulent exercise, a house-of-cards fabrication that can't stand up to true scientific scrutiny, as evidenced by the released e-mails and data files. If these major science associations had been aware of the extensive fraud perpetrated by the IPCC climate scientists, it's highly unlikely they would have sent the letter to the U.S. senators. Or, would they still have sent the letter?
See, that's the relevant question and a major problem. It does now appear that the major science associations actually condone
scientific fraud, as long as it meets a specific political goal or
agenda that is their preference. Since that does seem to be the case, why would any individual, or for that matter, any politician, believe anything a scientist says or any science association opines about? How can anyone trust the science establishment after these revelations of massive science fraud? Frankly, it's fair to surmise that scientists and associations have not only lost their "mojo," but their collective guilt by fawning association has shredded their credibility.
Can scientists and science organizations ever regain what they have wantonly threw away? Sure, they have to become full-fledged science skeptics committed to impartial and accurate vetting of hypotheses and all empirical data. That is the historically important and enlightened role society expects of them. Yet, they have cavalierly abdicated this role for current greed and power. It's a possibility they can reclaim what they purposefully threw away, but don't hold your breath too long. To really make it happen, major science organizations will require a house-cleaning from basement to attic. The leftist-liberal activists who now control major science organizations will not willingly relinquish their power, no matter how much damage they cause the science community and its credibility.
