A Major Risk of MSM Global-Warming Hysteria: Turning Earth Into A Global Snowball Via Geo-Engineering

Read here. Could the mainstream media turn the world into Snowball Earth? Don't laugh, they already turned rational billionaires into hysterical zombies, spending money on crazy solutions that could cause significant harm to billions.

"The natural state of most planets is cold, very cold. Planet Earth owns some prime orbital real estate near its sun, but even so it has experienced periods of Snowball Earth, when virtually the entire planet was covered with snow and ice. If humans are not careful how they approach the chaotic issue of Earth's climate, they could very well push the planet back toward that strange and very cold attractor."

MSM purveyors of those scary climate disaster scenarios, produced by computer simulations and their programmers, have already had a deleterious impact on the world: the ethanol corn scam; wind turbine bird and bat slaughter; tropical deforestation from planting of bio-fuels; high food prices for the world's poverty stricken; regulating traditional light bulbs out of existence and moving bulb manufacturing jobs to China; visual landscape pollution from wind/solar energy farms; forcing mercury-laden, toxic CFL bulbs on the public; and, etc.

Without the ludicrous, over-the-top hysteria that the MSM generates about "catastrophic" global warming, most of the idiotic and panicked responses initiated by politicians and bureaucrats so far, such as above, could have been avoided.

But the MSM keeps fanning the flames of hysteria, which could well lead politicians to make even dumber decisions, pushing "solutions" that would be civilization threatening. One such solution is an effort to geo-engineer the climate, potentially leading to Earth's next ice age - a lifeless, snowball world.

Billionaire's Green-Toy Designed To Cool The World May Actually Warm It Say Scientists

Read here and here. Guilt-driven billionaires who have recently become global-warming warriors are now pursuing investment schemes to make energy more expensive, less reliable, and food more scarce/expensive for the world's masses, all in the name of "saving the world".

In reality though, they favor tax-payer subsidized investments that actually make the world worse in terms of the environment, besides potentially endangering the entire globe.

The latest example of the latter is the lame-brain, geo-engineering idea to make the clouds whiter in hopes of cooling the world "somewhere" at "sometime" for some unknown span of time. We say "hopes" because no one knows for sure the outcome of these "I-want-to-play-god" ego-maniac experiments.

Now comes confirmation from scientists that these cloud experiments are likely to do the opposite of what was originally thought (warming instead of cooling) - definitely the law of unintended consequences is in play when performing in a pretentious god-like manner. If these type of billionaires' experiments go awry, hopefully it would lead to massive global class-action lawsuits that will finally impoverish the dumb ass billionaire class once and for all.

"“Whitening clouds by spraying them with seawater, proposed as a “technical fix” for climate change, could do more harm than good, according to research.’...Whiter clouds reflect more solar energy back into space, cooling the Earth... But a study presented at the European Geosciences Union meeting found that using water droplets of the wrong size would lead to warming, not cooling.”.....This article further underscores how little we know about the climate system. To deliberately alter the system by geoengineering is, therefore, quite a risky approach. The reason it is even being considered is that there remains the assumption that added CO2 is the dominate climate forcing that can “disrupt” the climate system from its current equilibrium....Such a static view of the climate is not supported by observations yet this simplistic view persists as illustrated by the 2007 IPCC..."

CO2 Capture & Sequestration: Norway Discovers 'C&S' Technology Pollutes Atmosphere With Cancer-Causing Materials

Read here. The Norwegian CO2 capture and sequestration project, after consuming billions of dollars, has been put on hold for at least 4 years. Multiple issues plague the project, including potentially fouling the atmosphere with carcinogenic substances.

Despite all the attention around CO2 capture, there is surprisingly little knowledge about the health effects and environmental effects of several compounds that can be formed...A theoretical study shows that some of these may be harmful, depending on the amine used and the extent to which these substances are formed. In particular, one must be aware of the concentration of transformation products that may be carcinogenic."...

One can only gasp at the fact that the environmentalists are angered by the delay in a totally unnecessary CO2 capture project because waste substances have major health and environmental consequences.

The Problem With Geo-Engineering: It Could Destroy The Climate As We Know It

Read here. As Copenhagen and IPCC climate science have imploded into a non-fixable, political mess, others are now turning to geo-engineering schemes in order to save the world from climate change. Since the world's climate is constantly changing naturally, this seems like a fool's errand - bound to waste effort, time and money in big numbers. In addition, trying to actually change the climate could actually cause even worse conditions than those that one wants to stop, for example:

"Even so, while climate science is slowly unraveling the mysteries of how the atmosphere works, other scientists who style themselves “geoengineers” are busy hatching schemes to inject aerosols into the stratosphere in an effort to cool the planet....This geoengineering suggestion is based, naturally, on climate models. The same models that have been shown to be unable to predict climate change correctly even without humans intentionally messing with the stratosphere....A change in incoming solar radiation [artificially blocking sunlight] that exactly offsets the warming effect of greenhouse gases is expected to overcompensate their effect on the hydrological cycle. So if temperature is brought back to pre-industrial levels, global rainfall totals could decline well below the levels of the early nineteenth century. The Asian and African summer monsoons on which billions of people's livelihoods rely could potential be derailed by geoengineering....geoengineering has the potential to cause as much international tension as nuclear proliferation—perhaps even more."

So, what's wrong with just doing a little test experiment just to see if it works?

"There are, however, a few problems with this scheme:

• No matter what the results, it would be difficult to stop such an experiment quickly.
• All model simulations conducted so far indicate that upon ending the project, the climate would warm much more rapidly than if no geoengineering had been conducted in the first place.
• People being what they are, the geoengineering infrastructure, including different industrial interests involving many jobs, would lobby to keep the program going.
• No stratospheric aerosol observing system exists to monitor the effects of any in testing so judging the results would be difficult.
• Finally, local impacts are particularly difficult to predict."
